The goal of the sustainable agriculture program is to meet the food and textile needs of our communities in the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. PIRWA seeks to integrate three main objectives into our sustainable agriculture work: a healthy environment, economic profitability, and social and economic equity. We ensure that we sensitize farmers on the use of methods which promote soil health, minimize water use, and lower pollution levels on the farm. We do this through setting up modal farms within the communities that can be used to train other farmers on best practices that ensure sustainable ssupply of agricultural products without compromising the environment.
